Designed to give nurses and health leaders the communications tools and confidence to powerfully manage internal and external communication for their organisation. This course covers public speaking, media relations, communicating with stakeholders and what to do in a crisis.

This course is made up of six modules and includes 2.5 hours of study. The Leader’s Communications Tool Kit Series is not a CPD earning course.

Once you complete a module, please tick the box provided and it will be closed. You will then receive a Final Evaluation Survey. On completion of the Survey, you will be awarded your certificate. If you are enrolled in the full course (6 modules), you will receive a Final Evaluation Survey at the completion of all modules.

Public Speaking
- 40 minutes

This module provides insights and tools for writing and presenting speeches to your stakeholders. From crafting your speech through to delivery, this module aims to give you the confidence to represent your organisation or brand as a poised, professional thought leader and expert.

Communicating with Stakeholders
- 30 minutes

This module provides a framework for you to understand who your stakeholders really are, how to work and manage communications with them. This module is important for anyone who is a leader in their role and works with sponsors, donors, government, funding bodies, media, boards and peer organisations.

Understanding the Media and when to use PR
- 20 minutes

In this module, you will learn about the Australian media - how it is organised and works. This module will also explore, what public relations is, and how to use the media to create a powerful communications strategy.

Communicating in a Crisis
- 30 minutes

Are you ready to lead your organisation through a crisis? This module discusses how crisis communication thinking and planning is a crucial element of any leader’s role and provides the tools to plan for and manage a crisis well.

In this module, you’ll hear from esteemed leader Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward, FACN and CEO of the Australian College of Nursing as she talks with Felicity Zadro, Founder and Managing Director, ZADRO about being a leader and managing a crisis.

How to be a Good Spokesperson
- 30 minutes

Learn what a good spokesperson is, what their role is, what they are expected to achieve and how to be confident in any situation for your organisation and personal brand. This session is great for aspiring leaders who wish to expand their skills in this area.

Bonus Content – Communication Trends
- 10 minutes

Bringing together the tools and content in earlier modules, this session seeks to inform nurses about the changing trends and communication landscape. This session is great for those wanting more information about the communication landscape and how it can impact your organisation.
